A book I think my cat would definitely recommend is Bad Kitty by Nick Bruel! This children’s book follows a riotous kitty who acts out when her favorite foods are all gone. I think he would pick this book because he looks like the cat in the book and he does some naughty things!

Pete the Cat and the Perfect Pizza Party by Kimberly and James Dean
A book that my cat, Tonka, recommends is Pete the Cat and the Perfect Pizza Party by Kimberly and James Dean. Tonka recommends this book because she loves pizza, but she would never eat a whole one herself. She loves joining Pete the Cat so that they can share! Pete the Cat makes his perfect pepperoni pizza, but when his friends show up with their own favorite toppings, things don’t go as planned. In this fun, food-filled picture book, Pete learns that sharing and trying new things can make something even better. (P.S. Tonka loves pizza so much that she even has a pizza collar!) (P.P.S. I don’t actually feed her pizza — it’s just a joke from Impractical Jokers.)

The Wild Robot by Peter Brown
Since we found Sprinkles outside as a kitten, I think she would recommend The Wild Robot by Peter Brown. When a robot named Roz is stranded in the wilderness, she tries to find her purpose. Sprinkles likes how Roz wants to be wild like she once was.

Life of Pi by Yann Martel
My cat’s recommendation would be Life of Pi by Yann Martel, which follows the story of a young boy who gets trapped at sea with an adult Bengal tiger. She would likely promote this book because she embodies the same devious and unpredictable nature of the tiger in the book and is a manifestation of the overall intentional chaos in the novel.

North Woods by Daniel Mason
My cat Poppy would recommend North Woods by Daniel Mason! Whenever I would sit down to read this novel, Poppy always curled up next to me to read along. North Woods tells the story of a house in New England over the course of 400 years and its various inhabitants. Poppy loves the beautiful descriptions of nature in Mason’s book because it reminds her of her own outdoor adventures. She also likes that the novel features a cougar (called a catamount in the book) lurking in the background of the story just like she’s always sneaking around at home. Finally, the cougar on the cover reminds her of herself — it’s almost as fierce as she is!
