Sarah currently lives in San Francisco and is taking the Bookstagram world by storm. Since joining in 2021, she has climbed to almost 9,000 followers! An avid reader herself, she posts aesthetic book reviews, pretty book pictures, recommendations, and so much more. Why did you start your Bookstagram?

I have always been a book lover, but never had a space where I could talk about books. During the pandemic, I was reading about 100 books a year and starting tracking them on Goodreads. I slowly discovered the Bookstagram world in September 2021, and then there was no looking back.

Where are you from?

I am a South Asian living in the San Francisco Bay Area, California.

What do you want your Instagram to bring to the world?

My aim is to share my love for books. It could be through reviews, pretty bookish pics, recommendations, and more.

What’s a fun fact about you?

Besides reading books I have other hobbies too like crochet and cake decoration.

I try to post 5 times a week.

What does your Bookstagram mean to you?

I used to be obsessed with Bookstagram when I started but now I have taken a more relaxed approach to enjoying Bookstagram without the pressure. I’ve met some amazing friends and I love how everyone is friendly.

What’s your favorite bookstore?

Banter Bookshop or any Indie Bookstore

Who would you have supply you with a lifetime of books?

I’m just too greedy! I wish publishers would send me all the books I am dying to read.

What’s your favorite book cover?

Fourth Wing.

What is a book that you have claimed to have read, but didn’t?

Shhhh….To Kill a Mockingbird.

When did you know you made it as a Bookstagrammer?

Berkley Romance asked permission to use a picture I took for my review of The Singles Table by Sara Desai in their post. This was a couple of months after I joined Bookstagram and I truly felt validated and accomplished even though I had about 1500 followers then.

What is your advice to aspiring Bookstagrammers?

Don’t feel pressured to grow and do what everyone is doing. Enjoy what you are doing, be authentic, and original.
