Thanks for chatting with us, Lauren! Let’s get started.
Why Did You Start Your Bookstagram?
I started it four years ago! I’ve always lurked on the outskirts of Booksta and have followed a few accounts on my personal Instagram. One day I impulsively thought, How hard could this be? Being on here brings me so much joy!
Where Are You From?
I’m from the UK!
What Do You Want Your Instagram To Bring to the World?
A place to just be yourself and talk about books!
Who Are Your Favorite Bookstagrammers?
There are so many but I’ve made a good circle of friends from Bookstagram (and we’ve actually met up!). They’re @mariesbookworldblog, @whenelizabethreads and @mystolenlullaby!
What About Your Favorite Books and Authors?
My favorite books are Legends and Lattes, Strange the Dreamer, Sadie, Her Majesty’s Royal Coven, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, and Lovely War.

My favorite authors are Laini Taylor, Stephanie Garber, Tarah DeWitt, Holly Jackson, and so many more. I can’t list them all!
Fictional Crush?
Mr. Rowan Whitethorn. Men with white hair rule my heart. It’s the Legolas effect.
What’s on Your TBR List?
Ooooof…There are too many on there but my top five at the moment are Queen B by Juno Dawson, Collide by Bal Khabra, Godkiller by Hannah Kaner, When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker, and Long Live Evil by Sarah Rees Brennan.
What’s Your Special Approach To Content?
I try to batch-take content when there’s good lighting! If I’m not feeling it or if I’m not inspired, then I don’t force myself to. I’ve found I enjoy making content when I’m in the right mindset; [that’s when] I’m more proud of the work I put out!
How Would You Describe Your Instagram’s Aesthetic or Page Theme?
PINK! It’s very pink and sparkly. I call it “If Barbie had a Booksta.”

How Often Do You Post?
I do try to post daily, or at least every other day. But I am a firm believer in taking a break when you need one. Burning out over something that is supposed to be fun isn’t worth it.
What Does Your Bookstagram Mean to You?
My bookstagram is a safe space for me. I feel like I can truly be myself to talk about my passion, which is books!
Favorite Bookstore?
As a UK girlie, it’s gotta be Waterstones! But there’s also Daunt Books in London, which is a stunning indie bookstore.

Who Would You Have Supply You With a Lifetime of Books?
Waterstones. Please, I BEG! Just books when I want, whenever I want!
Which Author(s) Would You Want To Take a Selfie With?
I would LOVE to take a selfie with Juno Dawson, Tarah DeWitt, or Laini Taylor! I have a photo of me and Leigh Bardugo!
Do You Have a Favorite Book Cover?
I love the Once Upon a Broken Heart covers! They’re so pretty and cohesive! They’re also pink too!
What’s a Book You’ve Claimed To Have Read That You Didn’t?
Any classic book for school projects. Sorry, old teachers! There are no dragons in Of Mice and Men!

When Did You Know You Had Made It as a Bookstagrammer?
At the very beginning, when I was able to talk about books to other people who also loved books! I finally found a place to be myself!
Do You Have Any Advice for Aspiring Bookstagrammers?
Bookstagram isn’t about numbers; it’s about sharing our love for books and making like-minded friends. Just have fun!

Is There Any Additional Bookishness You Have That You’d Like To Share?
I have a few bookish tattoos (and want more!). I prefer paperbacks to hardbacks. I love to make music playlists to match books I’ve read. I don’t burn my bookish candles. I will ALWAYS have either my Kindle or a physical book with me wherever I go. I probably won’t ever get through my entire TBR.

Thanks again for inviting us into your gorgeous Booksta, Lauren. Manifesting that Waterstones comes through with that lifetime supply of books. To all you Bookstr readers, make sure to give @littlebookishfairy a follow and tune in next week for another edition of BOTW!
