A month before it’s premiere date, Netflix released a teaser trailer for the upcoming Witcher spin-off, Witcher: Blood Origin. Based on the books by Andrzej Sapkowski, let’s take a first look at what is to come in The Witcher universe.
Previously during the TUDUM fan event, Netflix revealed the show’s release date, but we hadn’t seen any first looks other than pictures. Now we get a glimpse at the highly anticipated spin-off. The trailer comes just weeks after Cavill announced his exit from Netflix’s The Witcher based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s books.

The new series will take us 1,200 years before Geralt of Rivia. The cinematography looks breathtaking and I’m already excited to see how this new journey unfolds. The new trailer shows Scían (Michelle Yeoh), Éile (Sophia Brown) and Fjall (Laurence O’Fuarain) travel the Continent as fighting and destruction occur.
Netflix said,
“Over four episodes, Blood Origin will follow Scian, Éile and Fjall on a vengeful journey that will unravel the secrets of the creation of the first-ever prototype Witcher. The previously unseen Golden Age of Elves serves as a period backdrop.”

TUDUM spoke with show runner, Declan de Barra, who said,
“Viewers will be surprised because they’re going to see a story told about a period of elven history that was buried by the humans after their arrival and eventual conquest of the continent. We get to tell a tale about the elves when they were at their height, like all great societies before their fall.”
