Why did you start your Bookstagram? What do you want your Instagram to bring to the world?
My reading journey really started after watching Bridgerton season 1. I immediately picked up Julia Quinn’s books, got completely hooked, and from there I discovered so many different types of romance. I started following a few Bookstagrammers and loved how passionate and creative the community was. At some point, I realised I wanted a space where I could share that love too, chat about favorite books and tropes, swap recommendations, and connect with others who love romance as much as I do. I also work in graphic design, and Bookstagram became a fun way to combine my creative side with reading. It’s a space that’s truly mine.
Where are you from?
A small city in the Netherlands, not too far from Amsterdam.
Fun Fact about you:
I used to struggle with English in school… now I read over 100 books a year in English for fun.

Favorite Bookstagrammers:
There are so many amazing creators, but a few I always love seeing pop up on my feed:
- @winnipeg.reads — one of the first accounts I followed!
- @hopelesslysmuttyreads — my go-to for spicy recs and creative posts.
- @larissacambusano — I always look forward to her Booktube videos.
- @sportschicreads — for when I need a new sports romance.
- @miraculousreads — love her aesthetics and cosy pictures.
Favorite Books and Authors:
This is an impossible question but I’ll try my best!
- For sports romance: Liz Tomforde, Becka Mack, Stephanie Archer.
- For small town: Laura Pavlov, Elsie Silver.
- For billionaire romance: T.L. Swan, Catharina Maura, Olivia Hayle.
Fictional Crush:
I’m terrible at remembering names once I’ve finished a book — but if they fall hard, communicate well, and give golden retriever energy, I’m probably already obsessed.

5 Books on your TBR:
Honestly? I could list 50. But here are the first ones that come to mind:
- Wild Love by Elsie Silver
- Wyatt by Jessica Peterson
- Tame the Heart by Ava Hunter
- Face Off by Chelsea Curto
- Love Fast by Louise Bay
Name a popular author/book/book series that you haven’t read yet but want to?
ACOTAR. I know, I know. I feel like everyone but me has read it. I really want to, but I know I’ll want to binge the entire series in one go and I just haven’t found the right moment yet. Also a tiny bit scared it won’t live up to the hype.
What’s Your Special Approach to Content?
I try to keep it honest and personal. I don’t want my account to feel overly curated, it’s really about sharing my love for books, celebrating authors I admire, and connecting with readers who enjoy the same stories. I always aim for a balance between aesthetics and authenticity.

Aesthetic / Instagram page theme:
Soft tones, a bit dreamy, warm, and romantic. I love calm visuals that still feel cozy and creative.
What does your Bookstagram mean to you?
I never expected to become someone who reads this much or posts about it online, but here I am, and I’m so glad I took the leap. It’s become a creative space, a fun hobby, and even a way to connect with people around the world who love the same stories I do.
Favorite indie bookstore:
I don’t have one close by, but I love supporting small shops and bookish creators whenever I can, mostly when I’m on holiday.

Author you wish to take a selfie with:
Meeting Julia Quinn at RARE Florence was already a dream, but I’d love to meet Becka Mack and Stephanie Archer one day, too.
Favorite book cover:
Hard to pick just one, but the Playing for Keeps series by Becka Mack is a top contender. I love the soft watercolor style, especially now that I’ve been experimenting with watercolor painting myself.

What are your favorite creative avenues to explore when putting together a post for your page, and why?
I love styling photos and working with natural light to create a soft, cohesive vibe (although that can definitely be a challenge during the winter months). I enjoy putting together book rec graphics or mini layouts in Canva, it’s a fun way to mix my love of design with my love of books. A lot of my ideas come from just looking at my bookshelves or getting inspired by a certain edition or colour palette.
What do you like most about Bookstagram?
Definitely the community. I’ve met so many kind, funny, thoughtful people who are just as passionate about books as I am. It’s such a positive space, and it makes the experience of reading even better.
What’s a memorable or favorite interaction you’ve had with an author or follower?
Meeting Julia Quinn will always be a full-circle moment; she’s the reason I picked up my first romance novel.

Advice for aspiring Bookstagrammers:
Start with what you love, whether that’s romance, thrillers, annotated pages, or pretty flatlays. Don’t feel like you have to post a certain way or follow every trend to fit in. People connect with content that feels genuine.
I make all my photos with my phone, and in the beginning, I bought a simple Lightroom preset on Etsy that I still use for editing. You really don’t need fancy gear or apps to get started. Just try things out and see what works for you. There’s no right or wrong way to do this. Make what makes you happy, not what you think other people expect. And most importantly: it’s supposed to be fun (something I still have to remind myself of sometimes too). And if you ever want to chat or have questions, my DMs are always open.
