Why did you start your Bookstagram?
We really love reading and are also very creative people, so we wanted to combine our talents with our hobbies and become part of a community of like-minded individuals. It’s so hard to meet new people these days, and we wanted to make new friends and learn new things. This is one big adventure for both of us.
Where are you from?
We are both from Texas! Shay lives in Corpus Christi, TX, and Caitlyn lives in San Antonio, TX.
What do you want your Instagram to bring to the world?
We want our Instagram to contribute to the growing community of book lovers. We want to provide a fresh perspective on the books we read and help others find out what their next read is. We also love to make people laugh, so we try to be that comedic relief we all need occasionally.

When did you know you had made it as a Bookstagrammer?
We know we made it as a Bookstagrammer when we get engagement from authors. It is incredibly rewarding.
Advice for aspiring Bookstagrammers:
We know there is a lot of conflict over who to read and who not to read, and sometimes it can feel intimidating to post because you aren’t sure who is on the “naughty list. ” But having a Bookstagram is more about letting your creative side flow. It’s about having fun and sharing your views with others, and they can choose to follow you or not. Just keep on keepin’ on, and always remember that haters are going to hate no matter what you do.
