I know I’m not the only one at the edge of my seat waiting for Daisy Jones & the Six to arrive on Prime Video this March! Thankfully, we have been given a little taste of the drama to come with the release of the show’s official trailer.
The Daisy Jones & the Six series is based on the novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid. You may recognize this author’s other popular work such as The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I recently purchased this novel and haven’t been able to put it down.
Reid’s story follows Daisy Jones, played by Riley Keough, and the band The Six – specifically, its lead singer Billy Dunne, played by Sam Claflin. They both tried to make it big on their own, but one duet together makes them bigger than either could have imagined.
It is a tumultuous novel filled with rock and roll staples; sex and drugs. It explores the relationships that form within the band and those that end because of the pressures of stardom. Love and perseverance are at the heart of the storyline.
The novel’s structure stands out because it reads like a culmination of interviews. At first glance, it looks like a script, with each character having their name assigned to their point of view. This story is unique and brilliantly written.

I have watched this trailer a few times… needless to say I am obsessed and can’t get enough! I love seeing something I read, trying to create a picture in my head come alive on the screen. It can only get better from here.
