Harrison Ford has been a huge part of many childhoods. For years, he has been seen starring in multi-million-dollar cinematic universes, the shortlist including (but certainly not limited to) Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Here’s five movies/series featuring the man we’re celebrating.
1. Star Wars
This Harrison Ford article wouldn’t be an article without featuring Star Wars somewhere in it. An important character, Han Solo was the husband of Princess Leia, best friend of Chewbacca, and pilot of the Millennium Falcon. A previous smuggler, but became one a leader of the Rebels and a hero of the universe.
Ford played the ex-lover of forever-young Adaline (Blake Lively) and the father of her new love in The Age of Adaline. Kind of a weird turn of events, but this movie still remains to be one of my favorites to this day.
Ford plays the elusive Rick Deckard, who hasn’t been seen for thirty years. The newest Blade Runner, K, (Ryan Gosling) has gone after him to find the long-buried secrets that have been hidden away with him.
Another movie that has made Harrison Ford, well, the Harrison Ford we know today. Playing the famous (fictional) archaeological professor, Jones travels around the ancient world collecting artifacts and fighting bad guys.
A story of survival, Buck is a previous “civilized” dog before being stolen and sold to a new owner in Alaska during the 1800s. Buck becomes a part of a sled team and learns to let go of his previous domestic life and accept the “call of the wild” alongside his new owner.
Harrison Ford has been apart of many more movies and franchises spanning many years and hundreds of millions of dollars. And I am certain, as kid growing up with the Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies, his impact will be long-lived and hopefully never-ending.
Happy birthday, Harrison Ford! To many more, from all of us here at Bookstr!
