Fans and costars raised their wands on October 14, 2022, after Robbie Coltrane passed away at 72. Robbie Coltrane’s legacy will live on in the characters he gave to us all. Tom Felton and Emma Watson honored the beloved actor on Instagram and Twitter after his passing with beautiful words.
Harry Potter costars Emma Watson and Tom Felton took to their social pages to pay a beautiful tribute to Robbie Coltrane after his passing on October 14. Both Watson and Felton starred alongside the Hagrid actor in all eight Harry Potter films over the course of a 10-year period. They also appeared in the HBO Max exclusive Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts alongside Coltrane in January 2022.

Tom Felton, who played Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, wrote on Twitter,
“One of my fondest memories of filming Harry Potter was a night shoot on the first film in the forbidden forest. I was 12. Robbie cared & looked after everyone around of him. Effortlessly. And made them laugh. Effortlessly.”

Emma Watson, the Hermione actress, took to Instagram to share her heartfelt words to honor Coltrane:
“Robbie was like the most fun uncle I’ve ever had, but most of all, he was deeply caring and compassionate towards me as a child and an adult. His talent was so immense that it made sense he played a giant — he could fill ANY space with his brilliance.”

“Robbie, if I ever get to be so kind as you were to me on a film set I promise I’ll do it in your name and memory. Know how much I adore and admire you. You made it a joy to be Hermione.”
