Why did you start your Bookstagram?
“I was sharing my passion for reading on my personal IG, and a couple of friends mentioned how I should start a ‘book account.’ I thought I was going to be the first one to make a true Bookstagram, but I was so wrong!”
Where are you from?
“Pennsylvania!”
What do you want your Bookstagram to bring to the world?
“I just hope people see my content and it brings a smile to their faces! We all love books, and I’m happy to share this space with so many awesome readers.”
A fun fact about you?
“My maiden name was Jaclyn Read, so when I got married, I swapped it for my middle name. Now, my middle name is Read.”
What are your favorite books and authors?
“Favorite books are so hard, but here are some of my popular go-to authors! Lucy Score, Kristin Hannah, TJ Klune, Fredrik Backman, Abby Jimenez, Alice Feeney, Sarah Adams, Sarah J. Maas, Emily Henry, and Taylor Jenkins Reid.”
Do you have a fictional crush?
“RHYS! (ACOTAR)”
What’s on your TBR list?
“It’s WAAAAAY too long. A few that I want to start reading soon are the Beartown Series, the Crescent City Series, A Love Song for Ricki Wilde, and The Unmaking of June Farrow.”
What’s your special approach to content?
“PLANNING! I have a fun content calendar that helps me stay organized and not fall behind. Content creation has become such a fun hobby & keeping it on a calendar truly helps.”
What is your Bookstagram’s aesthetic?
“Light and airy, lots of pastels and sun :).”
How often do you post?
“1-2 times a day (twice if it’s a reel in the evening).”
What does your Bookstagram mean to you?
“SO MUCH! This community is so welcoming & the people it connects you with are seriously so amazing. I have met so many people in the past year and a half since starting Bookstagram. I wouldn’t have believed you if you told me a year ago I’ll be planning a booksta-trip with some girls from all over the country! It’s truly amazing.”
What’s your favorite bookstore?
“Of course, Barnes & Noble!”
Who would you have supply you with a lifetime of books?
An author you would love to take a selfie with?
“I did meet Lucy Score and will be meeting Kristin Hannah very soon! I think I’d love to meet Sarah Adams next!”
Favorite book cover?
“Adelaide by Genevieve Wheeler.”
Any books that you’ve claimed to read but didn’t?
“LOL, the only one that stayed on my ‘read’ list but I didn’t read was Chicken Soup for the Teacher’s Soul… I never quite finished it, but counted it as 1 additional book read in 2020. Secret’s OUT!”
When did you know you made it as a Bookstagrammer?
“When I started, I thought it would be CRAZY to hit 5K…. Once I hit 5K, I thought I could hit 10K and say, ‘I made it.’ Now I’m over 40K followers & it’s feeling ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! Once I was being approved for physical ARCs and popular E-arcs… that’s when I truly felt that ‘I made it.'”
Your favorite fandom?
“ACOTAR.”
Any advice for aspiring Bookstagrammers?
“Keep going!! Sometimes, one post you work really hard on will flop while some other one takes off, and you won’t believe it! Stay true to your personal niche and your own aesthetic. People are following you for YOU!”
