Fans of the Pride and Prejudice 1996 BBC series and 2005 film will soon have another adaptation to swoon over. Ever since Netflix announced their new series adaptation of Jane Austen’s famous love story, people have been buzzing about recasting these notable roles. There isn’t much confirmed about the upcoming production, but here some news that we do know!
Who Will Be Our Lizzie?
It would appear that actress Emma Corrin is in talks to star as the beloved heroine, Elizabeth Bennet. The 28-year-old actress is no stranger to period pieces. They got their big break in the critically acclaimed series The Crown as the much adored Princess Diana, a role which won them the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Drama. They are also no stranger to feminist tales, having starred in Lady Chatterley’s Lover in the titular role.

A Progressive Reimagining
Dolly Alderton, the author of Everything I Know About Love, is set to write the new dubbed “progressive” project. Casting a nonbinary actress such as Emma Corrin is an innovative step in this new adaptation.
