The British Book Awards will return to an in-person ceremony this spring. Also known as The Nibbies, these awards include the Discover Book of the Year given to underrepresented writers, Children’s Non-fiction, Illustrated, and Fiction awards, and two Audiobook awards given to the best Fiction and Non-fiction reads.
While an in-person event will be held, a live stream of the event will also occur for those not available to attend the ceremony. In addition, an edited version will be released for those who just want to see specific awards. This year also brings back certain awards from years past like the Individual Bookseller of the Year award, the Designer of the Year award, and the Pageturner of the Year award. Author of the Year and Illustrator of the Year will also be included in the awards ceremony.
Submissions for the award can be made until February 3. Shortlists will be announced in mid-March, and the ceremony will occur at the end of May in Central London. To read about the British Book awards and enter your own submissions, click here.
