Why did you start your Bookstagram?

I went from a hairstylist to a SAHM in 2019. At the time, I had a teenager, a 6-month-old, and [was] newly pregnant. My e-reader was my best friend, as well as scrolling the gram. I came across an account that was beautifully curated with book reviews and that inspired me.

Where are you from?

I live in Tacoma, WA. I may be biased, but I think the Pacific Northwest is the best. I love reading about what many picture our weather is like… [There are] rainy days, but when the sunshine’s here, it’s life-giving, and I thrive in a sun lounger with a book.

What do you want your Instagram to bring to the world?

I hope my page brings joy to whoever comes across it. I share a wide range of genres and books for all age groups. I share books I love or my girls love, as well as a few we hope to read!

Who are your favorite Bookstagrammers?

This list could get ridiculously long. One of my all-time favorite creators is @brittanysbookclub; she is so intentional with every post and shares for all ages. I also recommend her Substack! [Other favorites include] @theyellowbrickreader and @thatbookishlife — both these ladies share a book they love and I need to read it!!!

Who are your favorite books and authors?

One of my favorite books is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn! A list of authors I enjoy… Agatha Christie, Amy Harmon, Kevin Kwan, Gabrielle Korn, Rufi Thorpe, Jennifer E. Smith. Okay, this can get long!

Do you have a to-be-read list?

I have a ton of fun reading goals for 2025:

  • I’m taking part in the Agatha Christie Challenge.
  • Utilizing my stacks of cookbooks.
  • Reading Gregory Maguire’s, Courtney Walsh’s, and Rosamunde Pilcher’s backlists!
  • A reread of A Series of Unfortunate Events!
  • Read MORE books published by @zibbybookspublishing.

How often do you post?

I have finally found my groove with my page that works best for me and my time. I post Monday to Friday and take the weekends off. I batch-create for the week on Mondays; something that has helped me is writing my reviews as soon as I finish a book. That way, on Mondays, I take the photos and draft the posts.

Do you have a favorite bookstore?

If you follow me, you know I have a love for Beach Books in Seaside, OR. I placed an order online a few years ago and now I know the crew and have made a best friend from that one order, and I chat with her all day, every day!

What author would you want to take a selfie with?

I would love to meet Kevin Kwan. I just know he would be a fun time!

What is your favorite book cover?

A few 2025 covers I’m loving: Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid, First Time Caller by B.K. Borison, Murder by Cheesecake by Rachel Ekstrom Courage, The Road to Tender Hearts by Annie Hartnett, The Art of Vanishing by Morgan Pager. Also, these are all on my TBR!

When did you know you had made it as a Bookstagrammer?

I don’t think I’ve made it just yet! But I have made tons of friends and connections and have had amazing opportunities just by doing my favorite hobby: reading!

Do you have any advice for aspiring Bookstagrammers?

Have fun! Read what you love! Join in conversations! Be yourself!
