If you are a fan of 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star, then you’ll be ecstatic to know that a new spin-off is rumored to continue the first responder drama. With 9-1-1: Lone Star ending after its fifth season, it was accepted that 9-1-1 would be the only one standing to continue its long-going series with season 8 premiering this fall. However, it turns out that ABC has more plans for the franchise.
A Potential Location
After the original 9-1-1 series moved from FOX to ABC for the premiere of season 7, the TV network has taken the opportunity to continue the 9-1-1 franchise. According to Deadline, while there are many potential locations, Las Vegas is rumored to be the setting for a new firefighting department to handle future disasters. With the city known as the “Sin City,” the possibilities of life-threatening events and catastrophes are endless, whether caused by careless people or unfortunate circumstances.
The creators and showrunners of both shows, Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear have discussed a new installment to the franchise with a script confirmed to be written. The script’s confirmation is enough for fans to be excited about a new potential series to look forward to.
9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star

Besides watching some gruesome accidents and frightening situations (like a plane crashing or a volcano erupting) you’ll recognize big stars like Angela Bassett (from Black Panther) as Officer Athena Grant in 9-1-1, and Parks and Recreation’s Rob Lowe as firefighter captain Owen Strand in 9-1-1: Lone Star. There are even a few crossover episodes with the main firefighter cast interacting with each other, like containing a spreading wildfire that happens in Austin. The same might happen in the newest 9-1-1 installment.
Will you be giving the franchise a watch? With over-the-top scenarios like killer bees forming into a tornado, it’s best to leave your sense of realism at the door and enjoy how the first responders react and save their victims. You’ll become more aware of the dangers that could happen, just not to this extreme.
