Tis the season to be gifting, yes that’s right. It’s the holiday season, which also means it’s the season to be gifting all your family, friends, loved ones, and even yourself with some amazing gift ideas. Therefore, let’s combine the holiday season with one of my favorite book series, Percy Jackson & The Olympians.
It was truly an unforgettable year for Percy Jackson fans. There was constant news and updates related to the Disney+ shows, such as casting and teaser trailers. And we got some amazing announcements as well about new book releases that expand the entire Percy Jackson series and universe. There is the 6th book titled The Chalice of the Gods and Nico di Angelo’s own book with Will Solace, The Sun and the Star. With all this news, I’m sure it reawakened and revived the love and adoration so many people have for the Percy Jackson series.
Therefore, here is a gift guide full of bookish gift ideas for that demigod in your life who is lovingly obsessed with Percy Jackson.
1. Box Set of Percy Jackson & The Olympians
Of course, books are always the way to go when it comes to gifts for bookworms. So you can never go wrong with gifting them the entire series for their collection. And if they’re a big collector, the Percy Jackson & The Olympians series has had a couple of cover makeovers throughout the years since its original release. Another box set you could also give is The Heroes of Olympus series, which has Percy and Annabeth going on adventures with some new Greek and Roman demigods.
2. Preorder the New Books
If they happen to already own the books, there are other books to buy for them. Rick Riordan dropped some special announcements of two book releases in 2023 related to Percy Jackson. So why not surprise them with preorders for those books? The Chalice of the Gods is the 6th installment of the original Percy Jackson series and releases in September 2023. However, The Sun and the Star comes out in May 2023 and is available for preorder. It follows The Trials of Apollo series and centers around Nico di Angelo and Will Solace.
A Camp Half-Blood shirt is essential and the perfect addition to a Percy Jackson fan’s closet. The iconic shirt is such a staple of the entire series. No one can forget the bright orange shirt with the Pegasus logo that every camper wears to represent the camp. Owning a Camp Half-Blood shirt will make any demigod feel like they themselves attended and are a part of the camp.
Along with the Camp Half-Blood shirt, the camp necklace is another staple of the entire series. The camp necklace is given to every camper, and each bead represents a summer spent at the camp. Typically, each painted bead represents a significant event or quest that happened that summer at camp. It’s a perfect gift to pair with the shirt too.
A few Etsy shops offer replicas of Percy’s or Annabeth’s camp necklaces with beads. But it can also be more personalized as a DIY project where the beads are painted with what cabin they belong in and what quests, tasks, or events they would complete and experience during their summers at Camp Half-Blood.
Another gift you can’t go wrong with is candles. Many bookworms love having a candle lit while they’re reading to create the perfect atmosphere and ambiance, especially if they’re a mood reader. So, why not buy a candle scent that will remind them of the books? There are candles scented like Percy Jackson himself or inspired by each cabin.
6. Enamel Pins
Some amazing decorative gifts are enamel pins. Enamel pins are gorgeous as well as perfect for tote bags and clothes. There are so many different designs available from various artists on Etsy. With so many iconic references to the series, here are some of my favorites: a gorgeous replica of Camp Half-Blood, an assortment of pins for each child of a god or goddess, a Percy Jackson quote pin, a pin of Riptide, and a Riptide & Camp Half-Blood pin.
Mythomagic was first mentioned in The Titan’s Curse, as it was Nico di Angelo’s favorite game. It is a collectible game involving trading cards and little figurines modeled after Greek Mythology. Artist, Velinxi, has prints and stickers available of Percy Jackson, Nico di Angelo, and Jason Grace inspired by Mythomagic. The artwork is absolutely stunning. These could also double as bookmarks as well.
As a fan of Percy Jackson myself, I had to include this shirt on the list. It’s just too funny, and I think any fan will appreciate it. It’s a reference to a very funny inside joke when they ventured into the Hoover Dam during one of their quests. This “dam” inside joke has many fans often referring to it within the fandom. So, I promise it will be a dam good gift.
9. PJO-Inspired Shirts
Sometimes, you just want some subtle merch that is not only beautifully designed but makes references to the book series in subtle ways that only readers of the series would know. Undoubtedly, there are tons of Percy Jackson-related designs on clothes on Etsy. One of my favorite shops is TayMasDesigns. They have so much PJO merch with art designs for Delphi Strawberry Farm, Lotus Hotel & Casino, Aunty Em’s Emporium, Monster Donut, and so many more.
10. Tote Bags
If your friends are liking the designs above from TayMasDesigns but don’t really want a t-shirt, then they’re in luck! The shop also has those same stunning designs on tote bags too! You can never go wrong with tote bags. They’re the perfect gift and accessory for bookworms to carry all their books in.
Overall, what is one way to a book lover’s heart other than books of course? It’s gifts related to their favorite book or book series. We hope these gifts will make any Percy Jackson-loving demigod happy!
