Thank you, Suonnah, for accepting our collaboration. Let’s get into the interview!

Why did you start your Bookstagram?

I started my Bookstagram because I wanted an outlet where I could share my love of books with others. I saw my friend that had one, and I thought it was so cool.

Where are you from?

I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, and I’m Haitian.

What do you want your Instagram to bring to the world?

I want my Instagram to be an outlet where everyone and anyone can express themselves and feel like they can authentically be themselves. My Instagram is an outlet for me to express my love of books and my different interests, like fitness, fashion, life, vlogs, and more.

I don’t know if I have a theme, but I guess I’d say it’s very colorful and bubbly.

I post a picture 1-3 times a week and reels 2-3 a day.

What does your Bookstagram mean to you?

It means the world. It’s a platform where I can share my love of books and everything to do with books. I’ve built such a beautiful community of people that I can share everything and anything. Everyone is so supportive.

Favorite Bookstore:

Value Village or a thrift store. I love finding good gems secondhand.

Who would you have supply you with a lifetime of books?

Probably the publishing company Avon or Berkley. Their books hit.

Author to take a selfie with:

Talia Hibbert. Omg that would be a dream!

Favorite book cover:

Love Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood. I could stare at Jack all day.

Book you claimed to have read that you didn’t:

I don’t think I have a book I claimed to [have] read and didn’t, but I think I’ll say A Little Life. The book was so long, and I couldn’t get into it, so the book feels like a big blur. I barely remember it. It’s like I didn’t read it.

When did you know you had made it as a Bookstagrammer?

When I met a follower in the book section at a thrift store. I had a feeling like, “Wow, people know me online for the thing I love doing.”

Advice for aspiring Bookstagrammers:

You only live once. Have fun with it! Do it for you and only you. Share with the world what you love. There’s space for everyone.
