Thank you for chatting with us, Amy. Let’s get to the interview!

Why did you start your Bookstagram?

After I finished grad school, I had a moment of “now what?” I decided to combine my love of reading with my love of getting free stuff… ergo, Bookstagram. 🙂

Where are you from?

I’m located in Minnesota.

A set of vertically stacked editions of The Empyrian book series by Rebecca Yarros. The spines of Fourth Wing and Iron Flame are visible while the rest are displayed with their sprayed edges facing forward.

What do you want your Instagram to bring to the world?

Joy. There’s too much crap in the world to not try to promote joy whenever possible. Reading is my passion and a huge part of who I am, so whenever I can share that love with a fellow bookish friend, then it’s a win!

Fun fact about you:

I have over 2,000 books in my at-home library. 📚

Favorite Bookstagrammers:

For introducing me to a fun group of #thrillerlovers:

If you’re into special editions:

Because Krissy is such a great and kind person:

Favorite books and authors:

A photo of Amy's white and gray cat, Luna, standing on top of a small box overflowing with books. The only book in focus is Red Queen. The cat stands next to a stack of books, as well as in front of multiple stacks of books, some of which reach the ceiling.

Fictional crush:

Rhysand from ACOTAR. 💜

TBR list:

All 1,876 books that are sitting on my shelves. 🙃

What’s your special approach to content?

I don’t feel like there’s a special approach necessarily. Be yourself and the rest will come. 🙂

Author to take a selfie with:

Colleen Hoover or Tarryn Fisher. WAIT! Both of them in one photo, please. 😭

Amy stands in her home-library wearing a bright blue T-Shirt. The shirt has a photo of a light blue building with a red door and four windows. The windows are filled with books. Text on the T-Shirt reads: Cannot Be Trusted In A Bookstore.

When did you know you had made it as a Bookstagrammer?

My goal was 10K followers within my first year and I reached that in ten months! The grind was real, but the effort was worth it because I got to connect with SOOO many amazing people. Book people are my kind of people. 💜

A huge thank you to Amy for sharing some bookish joy with us! Be sure to follow her Instagram and Goodreads for some amazing recommendations and brilliant photographs.
