Netflix recently revealed plans for an animated series adaptation of Midnight Sun, catching many Twilight enthusiasts off guard. Let’s dive into what this development might signify for the beloved world of our favorite sparkly vampires!
Team Edward For The Win!
Netflix is currently producing an animated series called Midnight Sun. This book is from Edward’s perspective during the Twilight book, which tells us the beginning of the famous love story between Edward and Bella. Midnight Sun is a companion book from the notorious multi-billion dollar film franchise that doubles in size compared to the original Twilight book. This animated series has fans shocked and intrigued by what this entails. Will the sparkles finally look real?
Meyer will be working hands-on as executive producer to keep it as accurate to the book as possible alongside Meghan Hibbett, Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, Erick Feig, Samie Kim Falvey, and Sinead Daly. They have a fantastic crew working on this adaptation, and personally, as a fellow Twihard, I cannot wait to see the final product.
There isn’t a timeframe for the series’ release, but speculations suggest it will be in late 2025 or 2026 at the latest. I’m excited to see where this animated series will take this fandom and how the newer generation will get involved in the next few years.
