As the weather gets colder and we pull out jackets, blankets, and sweaters, we know autumn is coming. It’s the best season for us bookish people, so it’s important that we enjoy it to its fullest. This means creating the cozy autumn vibe in our homes. Read on to learn more.
Sweet-Smelling Candles

Any scent is fine, but the ones that are more specific to fall like pumpkin, vanilla, orange blossom, sandalwood, etc. are best. A relaxing, pleasant scent is ideal for maximizing the coziness, so whatever your favorite scent is, stock up on them before autumn comes so you don’t run out halfway through.
Lots of Food

Any kind of food works, but baked goods and seasonal foods are best. (Yes, even pumpkin spice-flavored foods.) Autumn is the season for eating, and there’s no better way to celebrate the coming season than with delicious snacks. Bonus points if it’s something homemade and the house smells like it, but store-bought works well, too.
Warm Drinks

Switching from iced drinks to warm ones is a yearly rite as the crisp air gets closer. Nothing beats staving off the incoming chill with a drink that warms you from the inside out. Tea, hot chocolate, or hot milk work best, since they are more associated with relaxing, but it depends on the person.
A Mountain of Blankets

If it’s not cold enough to snuggle under a blanket, then throw it on the back of a sofa or chair. That way it’s already there when you need it, making a space look more friendly and welcoming. The softer the better, regardless of size or design. After all, there’s nothing more cozy than a soft blanket you could bury your face in.
Stacks of Books

Books are amazing in every season, but there’s something special about reading them in autumn. Bonus points if you read something associated with the fall season, like witches, haunted houses, or apple and pumpkin flavored foods. Just curl up in your favorite reading spot and get lost in the book while enjoying all that autumn has to offer.
Follow these steps, and your home will be ready for autumn coziness.
