Why did you start your Bookstagram? What do you want your Instagram to bring to the world?
I started my Bookstagram after coming across @jobis89 on Bookstagram. I didn’t realize there was a whole community of people sharing books, and as soon as I found it, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I just want to share my love of books with people and maybe recommend a book to someone they haven’t heard of yet.
Where are you from?
I am from Canada, a small town in Alberta!
Fun Fact about you:
I was born with three kidneys. Two of them morphed into one super kidney.

Favorite Books and Authors:
It by Stephen King is my all-time fave, followed closely by A Little Life. I also love The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker (also where my Bookstagram name comes from), The Troop by Nick Cutter, Of Foster Homes and Flies by Chad Lutzke, Off Season by Jack Ketchum, and Kin by Kealan Patrick Burke.
5 Books on your TBR:
What Hunger by Catherine Dang, Lucky Day by Chuck Tingle, Whalefall by Daniel Kraus, The Autumn Springs Retirement Home Massacre by Philip Fracassi, and I Don’t Recognize This World Anymore by Kristopher Triana
What’s a book on your TBR you’ve been putting off reading, and why?
House of Leaves, because it sounds very complex and is very uniquely written. It feels like a book to tackle in the depths of winter when I go into hibernation mode lol.
Name a popular author/book/book series that you haven’t read yet but want to?
I haven’t read anything by Dan Simmons yet, but I definitely need to change that.
Name a publisher/publishing company that never misses with their new releases?
I am a big fan of Tor Nightfire.

Ooo. Maybe a little grungy, messy, dark, nostalgic?
Who would you have supply you with a lifetime of books?
Definitely Tor Nightfire! They never miss.
Author you wish to take a selfie with:
It would be so cool to be able to meet Stephen King and get a selfie with him!
Favorite book cover:
I am a big fan of vintage mass market paperbacks. It’s so hard to pick a favourite. I would love to get my hands on a copy of the 1979 edition of The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury.
What are your favorite creative avenues to explore when putting together a post for your page, and why? (graphics, editing the photos, creating edits, etc)
I like to use Lightroom for presets, and I like to use Canva and Bazaart for edits!
What do you like most about Bookstagram?
My favourite part about Bookstagram is the people. I have met so many amazing humans through Bookstagram that I never would have had the chance to meet. I also have found so many great books and authors through Bookstagram that I know I wouldn’t have had the chance of finding on my own.
Advice for aspiring Bookstagrammers:
Just be yourself and have fun with it. Don’t worry about your follower count or engagement. Be authentic, read the books you want to read, build connections with your followers, and enjoy this cozy little corner of the internet.
