Heroes come in all shapes and sizes…including tiny bug-sized ones and massive ones taller than Mount Everest. Return to the world of Marvel with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the third in the Ant-Man trilogy, featuring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne/Wasp, and more on February 17, 2023! Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the first installment in Phase Five of the MCU.

The majority of the cast from the first two movies and the greater MCU returns. In addition to Rudd and Lilly, returning cast and characters include Michael Douglas as Hank Pym (the original Ant-Man), Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne (Pym’s wife, Hope’s mother and the original Wasp), Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang (Scott’s daughter, recast from Emma Fuhrmann in Avengers: Endgame) and Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, who first appeared in Marvel Studios’ Loki as the big baddie of the Disney Plus series.

In the trailer, we see Scott and Cassie attempting to invent a “satellite” for the Quantum Realm, the same way that there are satellites in space. Unfortunately, disaster strikes and Scott, Hope, Hank, Janet and Cassie all get sucked into the Quantum Realm and encounter a variant of Kang the Conqueror, who undoubtedly has evil motives.

Scott came up with the solution for time travel to save half the world in Avengers: Endgame via the Quantum Realm. So, it makes sense that exploration of the Quantum Realm will continue in this next Ant-Man adventure. Given that Janet van Dyne was trapped in the Quantum Realm for 30 years and it was the catalyst for the zombie episode of What If…?, the foundation is ready for an extremely dangerous and exciting Marvel movie!

Because Jonathan Majors returns as Kang the Conqueror from Loki Season 1 and that Loki will be getting a second season, there is a good chance that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has direct links to the Marvel Studios series. Additionally, since Kang is promised to be the big bad guy – the equivalent of Thanos – in Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, this movie might be one of the most important in Phase Five of the MCU.
