Our Bookstagrammer of the Week Lottie, also known as @ljreads_, offers her 29,000 followers just that with simplistic, colorful, and aesthetically pleasing posts and reading recommendations. For the days you can’t organize your brain and are dying for a stellar book recommendation to disappear into and treat what ails you, Lottie’s got you. Why did you start your Bookstagram?

I’ve always been an avid reader, but I never had anyone around me who loved reading as much as I did, so I created my bookstagram account to connect with others who shared the same love and passion for it. Starting this account was definitely the best decision I made. I mean, what bookworm doesn’t love to ramble on about all things bookish?

Where are you from?

Essex, UK.

What do you want your Instagram to bring to the world? 

I’d love for my account to bring happiness and provide a reprieve to anyone who may stumble upon it.

Favorite Books and Authors:

My favourite books are Love and Other Words, Before We Were Strangers, The Goldfinch, Binding 13, None Of This Is True, and Fourth Wing My favourite authors are Renée Carlino, Lisa Jewell, Lynn Painter, Chloe Walsh, and Taylor Jenkins Reid. I’m a big mood reader so I’m always switching up genres and if a book can make me cry, it’s almost always a five-star read.

Aesthetic / Instagram page theme: 

I usually take photos with a simple/neutral background featuring book stacks and annotations that add a pop of colour.

How often do you post?

I try to post around 2-3 times a week with at least one reel in the mix.

What does your Bookstagram mean to you?

Bookstagram has allowed me to make so many friends all over the world, brought me amazing opportunities, and introduced me to so many new books and authors — so for that, I will always be grateful.

Advice for aspiring Bookstagrammers: 

Don’t put off creating a bookstagram account! You’ll connect with so many people around the world who share the same love for books, authors, and fictional characters as you and it’ll be so much fun! I have found that picking an aesthetic you love makes creating content a lot easier and enjoyable, so have a play around with what you like. And lastly, I know it can be hard but try not to focus too much on numbers and remember that reading and creating should be fun and shouldn’t feel like a chore.
