If your mom loves books and you need Mother’s Day gift ideas, you have come to the right place. Whether you need a gift for later today or you have time for some online shopping, I have some ideas that might pique your interest.
The ‘Non-Last Minute’ Ideas:
1. Personalized Notebook
A lot of bookish mothers (or any mother figures in your life) like to write. Whether they are a full-on novelist, an amateur poet, or list-lover, a notebook can be useful for any bookish person. Wanna step it up a notch? Many websites offer personalized notebooks. You can have your mom’s name written on the front or even her favorite quote!
2. Bookish Candles
Anyone obsessed with candles would probably appreciate another one. But a bookish candle? Now that’s next level. Many candle-makers have even found a way to make candles that smell like old books. Other bookish candle options include candles inspired by book settings or characters. Check out Wick and Fable which make candles inspired by Harry Potter, Six of Crows, Lord Of The Rings, and more!
3. Book-Themed Jewelry
If the person you’re buying a gift for likes jewelry, why not get them some bookish jewelry? From tiny book charms to book quotes, this idea has a vast selection of items to choose from. Above are some of my favorite examples.
4. Cool Bookends
Bookends can be a necessity when your book collection is getting a bit out of hand. There are tons of really cool bookends out there that are sure to excite your bookish mom. Above are some of my favorite examples.
Maybe you think these ideas are cool, but you kinda forgot about Mother’s Day and now it’s tomorrow, you don’t have a gift, and you’re kinda freaking out. Luckily, I also have some more last-minute Mother’s Day gift ideas that your bookish moms will love.
The ‘Last-Minute’ Ideas:
1. Write Them A Heartfelt Letter(s)
This one is a bit of a no-brainer. A really heartfelt, thoughtful letter is a great way to show your bookish mom some love. The longer the better, since your mom loves to read anyway. If that isn’t gonna cut it, you could also give her a box of ‘open when’ letters. This cheap and easy gift idea consists of a series of letters all marked to be open on/during a specific occasion. For example: ‘open when you are sad’, ‘open when you miss me’, ‘open when you need to laugh’, etc. This gift idea is fun, doesn’t cost much, and is a great way to show someone that you care.
2. Make A Bouquet Out Of Old Books
Paper flowers, especially those made out of book pages, are a really unique and cool gift. Not only will they last longer than actual flowers, but they can be used as decoration for other bookish occasions. For a book flower tutorial, click here!
3. A Bookish Gift Card Or Subscription Service
A quick, last-minute idea that’s a bit more thoughtful than just cash is buying a bookish e-gift card. These can include online subscriptions such as Audible or Kindle or e-gift cards to their favorite bookstore. To be a little more creative, you can buy her a bookish subscription box, such as Book of the Month, which curates a list of books each month and sends subscribers their choice out of that list!
4. Make A Bookish Poster
I don’t know about you, but I love decorating a space. What better way to spice up your mom’s living space than with a bookish-themed poster that you make yourself. Sites, such as Canva have tons of free templates to help you create a bookish poster in minutes. Even if you can’t print it by Mother’s Day, your bookish mom will love the effort and thoughtfulness this gift shows.
5. Make A Bookmark
A bookmark is something that every bookworm can benefit from. A homemade bookmark with your mom’s favorite quote or colors is the perfect last-minute gift idea. For ideas on how to make one, click here!
