Arthur is then whisked away by his friend Ford Prefect, who turns out to be an alien researcher for a guidebook titled The Hitchhiker’s Galaxy. Thus, begins Arthur’s bewildering journey through the cosmos, armed with nothing but a dressing gown, a towel, and a perpetually confused expression.
Arthur is an exemplary dunce of his own story, stumbling through the galaxy with the grace of a drunken giraffe on roller skates. While others around him seem to grasp the bizarre and often nonsensical nature of the universe, Arthur remains perpetually befuddled.
