While bookish people obviously love books, there are lots of other fun, book-related activities we enjoy as well. After all, book nerds are geeks in other ways, too. Lots of geeky hobbies relate to books and reading, and the list below includes just a few of them.
Playing Video Games

Most video games have plots, no matter how simple. They’re much like books, except more visual, and players have control over what happens, to an extent. Plus there are lots of games based on media, including books: The Witcher, Dante’s Inferno, and Sherlock Holmes, among others. With so much to enjoy, it’s no wonder this is a favorite.
Watching Anime

Most anime are adaptations of manga or books — like Howl’s Moving Castle — so it’s natural for us to watch them too. Even if they aren’t always as good as the manga, they’re still — usually — good. Whether it’s subbed or dubbed, it doesn’t matter so long as we can all enjoy a good story together.
Cosplaying

Dressing as your favorite character is an intriguing experience. But it’s also an empowering one, and one that can even help us understand a character by, literally, walking in their shoes. Even if a character only has a description and there’s no image of them, it’s still fun to take their canonical traits and use imagination to fill in the rest.
Live-Action Role-Playing (LARPing)

Acting out our favorite series, or even just temporarily immersing ourselves in a semi-historically accurate setting, is just so much fun. Experiencing events without any sort of danger is thrilling, and honestly, more people should do it. It’s a time to unwind and pretend to be someone else — what could be better?
Crafty Hobbies

Making bookmarks, character plushies, stickers, even making cosplays or outfits inspired by characters — any crafty thing, really, is great. Books are great inspiration for projects, and not only are they fun to make, but they’re useful and cute!
