You Are My Spring
In You Are My Spring, we follow a hotel concierge and a psychiatrist embroiled in a murder mystery. Kang Da-jeong is the hotel concierge with a history of bad relationships and moves to the rooftop of the Gugu building for a fresh start. Ju Young-Do is a psychiatrist with a wounded heart. Part romance story and serial killer mystery, it’s a show that subverts all your expectations.
Spring Waltz
In this romance K-drama, we follow two young children, Eun Young and Su Ho, who become close childhood friends on a distant island. After Su Ho’s father abandons him and flees with money he stole from Eun Young’s mother — who’d saved it up to pay for an operation for her serious medical condition — he intends to use to pay off his gambling debts, he is found by Hyun Ji Sook, who mistakes him for her deceased son. Sun Ho agrees to move to Canada with Hyun Ji Sook and her husband, if they pay for Eun Young’s operation, which she desperately needs. Fifteen years later, they reunite by circumstance, sparking a second chance at love. This show originally aired in 2006, so it’s a bit older, but it’s perfect for people looking for a slow-paced but drama-filled show.
Hospital Playlist
Hospital Playlist chronicles the lives of five doctors who went to medical school together in 1999. As close friends and work colleagues, they decide to create a band together, despite the fact that their lead singer is horrible at singing! What’s unique about this series is that it has no central drama plot. We are simply following the everyday lives of these five doctors and their ups and downs. Every episode feels like its own mini-story.
Love in the Moonlight
This historical romance drama set during the Joseon Dynasty follows Ra On, who earns a living consulting people on their dating and love as well as being a romance author, but does it all under the guise of a man. One of her clients, Lee Yeong, requests to meet her as her male persona, never knowing her true identity. Similarly, Ra On doesn’t know he is the crown prince. Thus, a star-crossed romance begins as Ra On moves into the palace after becoming the crown prince’s eunuch, and they grow even closer.
