As the era of beach reads unfortunately comes to an end, it’s important to remember what readers have to look forward to. September ushers in a new season as well as some amazing new books. Here are some important release dates you’ll want to mark in your calendar!

Sally Rooney hardly needs an introduction. We all got Marianne-inspired COVID bangs when the adaptation of her novel Normal People dropped to critical acclaim. The Irish author is set to continue her interrogation of complex human relationships, this time unpacking the bond between brothers. The dissimilar Peter and Ivan are both grieving their recently deceased father and struggling with their own romantic entanglements. Peter is a thirty-something-year-old lawyer who finds himself caught in a bit of a love triangle, and the younger Ivan is a chess player who enters into a relationship with an older woman.
Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors

For another story dealing with grief and sibling relationships, pick up the newest novel by the author of Cleopatra and Frankenstein. Blue Sisters follows three opposing and disconnected sisters as they each unsuccessfully deal with the sudden passing of their fourth sister. Despite their drastically different lives, vocationally and geographically, the sisters reunite in New York in the hopes of saving the childhood apartment their mother wishes to sell.
The Life Impossible by Matt Haig

You may recognize Matt Haig from his beloved novel Midnight Library. His newest novel is all about the awe and magic that fills life. Tell Me Everything by Elizabeth Strout

Tell Me Everything is the fifth installment of the Amgash series that chronicles the life of Lucy Barton, though it can also be read as a standalone. It’s an autumnal read set in the small town of Crosby, Maine. There, Lucy forms a connection with a lawyer, Bob Burgess, who is embroiled in a murder currently troubling the town.
