On this day in 1939, Martin Luther King, Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. King goes down as one of the most admired and esteemed political, social, and cultural figures in modern US history. An eloquent master of rhetoric, he inspired the masses and was a well-respected leader of the Civil Rights Movement.
