What is Book Publicity School?
Book Publicity School offers affordable professional PR support to authors through online workshops and coaching. Powered by Press Shop PR (www.PressShopPR.com), Book Publicity School leverages years of in-the-trenches experience to give writers the tools, strategies, and know-how they need to advocate for their work successfully and land media coverage in places like the New York Times, TIME, Publishers Weekly, New Books Network, and dozens of other venues.
Authors also secured invitations to literary festivals and bookstore events, created effective author websites and social media presences, and felt confident in the process! Alumni of Book Publicity School programs include Julio Vincent Gambuto, author of Please Unsubscribe, Thanks!, Anita Gail Jones, author of The Peach Seed, and Toni Halleen, author of The Good Samaritan.
About Founder Leah Paulos
Leah Paulos, the founder of Book Publicity School and Press Shop PR, has worked at the intersection of books and media for over 25 years. She’s led publicity campaigns for hundreds of authors, supporting them as they navigate the world of publishing and helping them line up media attention in outlets such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, Fresh Air, The Daily Show, TODAY Show, The New Yorker, NPR, The Atlantic, USA Today, People, Vox, LitHub, Poets & Writers, and hundreds of other traditional and new media outlets.

Leah always wanted to offer publicity support to more authors than Press Shop PR can accommodate for full media campaigns. Book Publicity School is her answer, allowing her to bring her decades of experience and passion for championing authors to more writers, and at an affordable price.
She’s spoken about book publicity at many venues, including the Columbia School of Journalism and the Authors’ Guild, and on podcasts like Brad Listi’s Otherppl, Let’s Talk Memoir, and The Writer Files. She began her career as a magazine editor at Condé Nast and went on to work as a writer and editor for several national magazines. She graduated from Cornell University in 1998. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband, co-book publicist Andy Davis, and their two boys.
