For fun, let’s venture into a world where all bookish characters live in the same universe and are all friends! Where wizards, vampires, superheroes, and hopeless romantics can share a meal in solidarity. Can you imagine what they brought to the dinner table for Friendsgiving? Better yet, what would you bring to this diverse crowd?
Peeta and Katniss- Cheese Buns & Venison Stew
Peeta would go all out! He would first make his infamous cheesy buns from scratch and pair them off with venison stew that Katniss hunted that morning. She’s not great in the kitchen, but she chopped up the vegetables! After portioning out ‘the game’ at the Hobb, she brought the leftovers to Peeta to make do. Thus the creation of venison stew!
Princess Tiana- Gumbo
Everyone begged Tiana to bring her delicious gumbo, and she did not disappoint! She made the dish in her brand new restaurant!
Bella and Edward- Apple Pie
These two don’t eat… the same way we do, at least. They probably took a bite out of Katniss’ deer. However, Bella feels awkward if they go empty-handed. Alice, her sister-in-law, would help her prepare an apple pie! They can go to the grocery store and pick up a store-bought pie if all else fails. Let’s hope the lines aren’t too long!
Lara Jean- Cherry Turnovers
Lara Jean was tempted to try something new, but decided to stick to something she had mastered. Her cherry turnovers are to die for!
Ron, Hermione, & Harry- Stolen Pies, Muggle Food, & Beer
Ron would sneakily steal a meat pie from his mum. He can’t help himself! Molly Weasly did notice a pie was missing at the feast, but she made an extra pie on purpose because she knows her son too well.
Hermione isn’t the biggest eater and doesn’t want to piggyback off Ron’s stolen pie, so she bravely tries to conjure up a potato salad. It’s very Muggle of her, but it’s one of the few recipes she remembers from back home.
Harry simply forgets that they’re going to a Friendsgiving all together, so he grabs whatever is in his fridge. A six-pack of butter beer? Bingo!
Not everyone is a fan of Harry’s butterbeer. Storm’s glad she bought some wine. She brought her favorite white wine– a particular dry Chardonnay.
Alice from Alice in Wonderland- Eat Me Cookies
Alice wants to relive her journey in Wonderland, so she makes a replica of the “eat me cookies!” As the guests begin chowing down on her sweet treats, she tells them the time she shrunk to the size of bugs and grew like a maple tree from these cookies. The crowd grows nervous and subtly spits the cookies in a nearby trashcan.
Miles Morales- Boxed Cookies
Oh, Miles! He is always running late. The Spider-Man curse plagues him! The best he could manage was nabbing a box of Chips Ahoy cookies from the liquor store. No one seems to mind though. After Alice’s story of adventures, a box of store box cookies never go wrong!
Friendsgiving is a time to share love, laughter, and a generous serving of yummy goods!
I’m not going to lie; my stomach is rumbling! Make sure to take this food quiz to try something new for the holidays!
