Netflix and Quay Street Productions have announced that they are set to adapt two more books from best-selling mystery and thriller author Harlan Coben. After the immense success of Fool Me Once, a previous adaptation from Coben’s work released at the beginning of 2024, the streaming platform has greenlit production of Coben’s Missing You and Run Away into their own limited series. Missing You and Run Away will be the exciting ninth and tenth Netflix screen adaptations of Harlan Coben’s work.

We can expect filming for Missing You to begin this spring in the United Kingdom. For both adaptations, Harlan Coben will act as the executive producer alongside his own production company, Final Twist Productions, and collaborate with local writers to reimagine his novels for television. Here’s what we can expect based on the books.

Book jacket of Missing You by Harlan Coben. A woman with a blonde ponytail and long red jacket is running down a corridor, looking behind her.

Initially published in 2015, Missing You follows Kat Donovan, an NYPD detective struggling to navigate online dating after her fiancé broke things off eighteen years ago. When she begins talking to a man online, she unearths a conspiracy that upends her life. Kat questions everyone she loves, including her murdered father, whose unusual, cruel death has yet to be solved. To protect herself and others, she must investigate the sinister strangeness and find some answers.

Book jacket of Harlan Coben's book Run Away. A man and a woman are running down the path of an orange and black spiraled maze.

Initially published in 2019, Run Away tells the thrilling story of a seemingly perfect family after their daughter goes missing. They find her again in Central Park, unsettled and playing the guitar. Before she went missing, she was addicted to drugs, and dealing with an abusive partner. She’s clearly disturbed, frightened, and still running away from something. She doesn’t go home but leads one of her parents into an evil, unknown world. What is discovered puts the entire family in harm’s way, and to protect them, they must battle the wickedness.

While we wait for these new releases, you can indulge in previous adaptations of the great author’s works. The Stranger, The Woods, The Innocent, Gone For Good, Stay Close, Hold Tight, and Shelter are all streaming on Netflix.
