Netflix is taking streaming by storm. The platform released premiere dates for The Witcher and the new spinoff The Witcher: Blood Origin during the TUDUM fan event.
It’s been almost a year since we visited The Witcher universe, unless you’ve been playing the video game, and Netflix decided we’ve waited long enough. Netflix announced some huge releases during the TUDUM fan event including release dates for The Witcher and its new spinoff, Blood Origin.
The streaming platform announced that The Witcher: Blood Origin will premiere December 25 on Netflix. Netflix also released some first look photos from the spinoff series.
Season 2 of the action-packed fantasy series premiered December of 2021. Netflix confirmed that Season 3 will be released during summer 2023.
While we don’t have much information about The Witcher Season 3 yet, we do know it will continue with the story following Geralt (Henry Cavill), Ciri (Freya Allan) and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra). A few new cast members will join the show also, including, Robbie Amell, Meng’er Zhang, Hugh Skinner and Christelle Elwin.

Netflix said the new spinoff series takes place 1200 years before the The Witcher. Set in the elven world, Blood Origin will tell the story that couldn’t withstand time. We will get to explore the creation of the first Witcher long before Geralt and see how the world of monsters, men, and elves became one.
