Let’s Make a Scene by Laura Wood
Let me tell you, this book has one of the best communicative couples I have ever had the pleasure of reading about. The characters are not only the funniest, wittiest, and best at pranks but also deep and unfiltered. In this book, we meet Cynthie Taylor, who has just landed her first acting gig starring in a small British film. But there’s an issue. Her costar, Jack, cannot stand her, and the feeling is completely mutual. The war behind the scenes of the film may be tense, but their on-screen chemistry is absolutely unmatched. The studio picks up on this as an opportunity for further publicity, forcing the young stars to fake a real-life romance.
Thirteen years later, Cynthie and Jack are surprised with an offer to make a sequel to their movie, but after all this time of not seeing each other, are they ready to reunite? The catch is that they must also rekindle their pretend relationship, with a documentary crew following every step. What happens when fine lines are breached and hate starts to look like love?
