Preparing For Halloween: The Bookstr Team’s Amazing Costume Ideas

The time has come for us to pick our Halloween costumes, and we couldn’t be more excited. Here are the Bookstr Team’s Halloween costume ideas!

Putting together a Halloween costume is something we look forward to every year. It is an exciting chance to show off your creativity, talents, and interests. As the holiday quickly approaches, the Bookstr Team has been brainstorming their costumes and preparing them for the big day. Read on to see what we are dressing up as this year!

A Dragon

This year I’m planning on dressing up as a dragon. Over the last few Halloweens, I have acquired a bunch of random costume pieces, and when I was going through them recently, I found a set of horns, clawed gloves, and wings. I would love to find contacts to make my eyes yellow, but we’ll see what happens.

Luce

This is so niche, but I’m going as Luce, the Vatican’s mascot for the Catholic Church’s 2025 Jubilee. I’m not a practicing Catholic anymore, and I don’t agree with a lot of the church’s teachings or practices, but she was so cute that I couldn’t resist.

I’m going to be Raspberry Torte from Strawberry Shortcake with my friends! A lot of us look like the characters, and it’s a cute niche group costume. I’ve been using Pinterest for ideas, and I’m going to go thrifting and look online for different pieces of my costume, like the striped socks and a wig!

I’m either going as Kara (Supergirl) or Lestat from Interview with the Vampire (show, I hate the movie). I wanna be Supergirl so my dog can be Krypto, but I also want to be Lestat because I really love his new rockstar look. I’m very indecisive. I’m working at Spirit Halloween this year, so I might just buy both.

My kiddo has been obsessed with Wicked since the first movie came out last year, and she’s waiting on tenterhooks to see the second. Obviously, her first choice for Halloween costume this year was one of the witches: Elphaba. However, she is also insisting that I dress as Glinda, and those who know me are already chuckling at the mental image of this dyed-in-the-wool aging goth shimmying into a pink, puffy ball gown.

My mom and I are about to go to Disney World’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, so of course, we had to coordinate matching Disney costumes. She had a Tinkerbell costume already planned, so I decided to go as Fawn from the Pixie Hollow movies. I found a super cute orange butterfly top, and I’m so excited to do the glittery fairy makeup!

I very recently got a kitten with my girlfriend, and what better way to celebrate Halloween than to coordinate a costume between the three of us??? We have been brainstorming for a while now, but came to the conclusion of going as Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, and for the kitty – Pascal from Tangled. Currently looking for some pet-safe dye, otherwise making a chameleon tail from scratch :) I find coordinating costumes to be so fun because everyone gets in on the creative process, so I can’t wait to see this come to life!
