After the season finale of Percy Jackson, which had many fans tuning in to watch, Disney+ has announced a second season for the show.
If you’re unaware of who or what Percy Jackson is, it is a middle-grade book series by Rick Riordan. It tells the story of Percy Jackson, a seemingly young yet troubled boy whose life turns upside down after his algebra teacher turns into a monster and attacks him. Percy Jackson soon realizes that he is far from a normal kid. He finds out he’s the son of a Greek god, making him a demigod who is half-human and half-god.
What’s even worse is that someone has stolen Zeus’s master bolt and framed Percy for it. All while discovering who he now is, Percy Jackson, along with two companions, Annabeth and Grover, has to find the master bolt and discover who has framed him before Zeus starts a war with Poseidon, who is Percy’s father. The TV show by Disney+ adapts the first book into the first season.
Recently, Disney+ announced they will be adapting the second book, Sea of Monsters, into the second season. While we don’t have much information on the season, we do know it will incorporate the events of the second novel, which leads our adventurers into the Bermuda Triangle, which is known by the demigods as the Sea of Monsters.
They must save Grover, who has gotten into a bit of trouble during his search for Pan, the god of the wild. They also must retrieve the Golden Fleece, which is the only thing that can cure the camp’s protective barrier. Without it, Thalia’s protective tree would die, and Camp Half-Blood would be exposed to the many monsters that like to feast on demigods. However, the Golden Fleece is also being hunted for by Luke Castellan, the antagonist in the first novel.
