Get ready, Sassenachs! The wait is almost over! Starz announced Outlander season 7 is set to premiere on June 16, 2023. There is a twist though– Only the first half of the season premieres June 16. The highly anticipated season 7 consisting of 16 episodes are split into two parts. The first half will premiere in June while the second half won’t premiere until 2024.
Season 1 of Outlander consisted of 16 episodes, but the season following ranged from 8-13 episodes. Knowing this, it won’t be unusual to only watch eight episodes before having to wait until 2024 for the next half. This news comes months after the announcement of season eight being the last installment of the hit Starz series adapted from the book series of the same name by Diana Gabaldon.
Season 7 News and Updates
Apart from the first-look images, Starz dropped of the upcoming season, there is a lot in store in the upcoming 16 episodes. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Maril Davis, executive producer of the show, said,
“This is our biggest season yet. We have so many storylines. So many different places. The trajectory — we cover so much terrain. I really feel sorry for our production designer, art department, costume designer and her team. It’s such a huge season. We almost can’t wrap our arms around it. It’s not only the extra four episodes, it’s just, the Revolution is here. It’s going to be really exciting.”

It is hard to believe season 7 is even more action-packed than all the rest. We are eager to see how things pick up after such a cliffhanger in season 6!
