The time is finally here! Once Starbucks releases holiday beverages, you know holiday decorations are right around the corner. That means holiday books too! My favorite thing to do is pick your next read based on the current seasonal items at Starbucks, so keep reading to find out what book your favorite beverage gets paired with.
Starbucks wasted no time in getting us the drinks we’ve all been craving. Some stores might have a few Pumpkin Spice Lattes left, but get ready for Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Lattes and Caramel Brulée Lattes. Books are one of those things that just feel like the season. A good book when the weather is crisp outside, and the coffee is hot (or cold) really sets the mood. Therefore, paired the latest holiday drinks at Starbucks with some cozy holiday reads. You can thank me later.
1. Kiss Her Once for Me by Alison Cochrun & a Peppermint Mocha
First things first, obviously, these two go together. This festive holiday rom-com compliments your Peppermint Mocha perfectly.
Just a year ago, Ellie worked at her dream job and experienced a rather perfect meet-cute with a woman at the bookstore. Next thing she knows, her life is filled with betrayal after losing her job, and she is utterly alone. Fast forward a bit. She is working at a coffee shop, just trying to get by, when her landlord proposes the wildest idea. Anyone up for a marriage? In a drunken state, Andrew proposes a marriage that would be convenient for the both of them. He gets his inheritance. She is no longer worried about money. Everything is fine until Andrew introduces Ellie to his sister while they are staying at his parent’s cabin for the holidays.
Do you think Ellie chooses the fake relationship or something a little more real? Find out by reading this book next!
2. The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake & the Toasted White Chocolate Mocha
Something about Dark Academia says Toasted White Chocolate Mocha. I can’t put my finger on it, though… This new release taunted me on the shelf at my local Barnes & Noble, and now I know it fits perfectly with the Toasted White Chocolate Mocha.
Every ten years, six magicians are selected to join a secret society. This book is giving very much Umbrella Academy vibes mixed with a hint of The Magicians. Are you intrigued yet? The six magicians take care of the lost library of Alexandria. Like any Dark Academia book, there is always a catch. Dive into this story of power, privilege, magic, and manipulation through six different characters.
The book claims it will “linger in your subconscious indefinitely.” Are you ready to add this to your TBR?
3. Better Than Fiction by Alexa Martin & a Caramel Brulée Latte
“Love isn’t always by the book in this charming romantic comedy about a bookseller discovering how to be the main character in her story.“
Penguin Random House
This sweet rom-com is even sweeter with your Caramel Brulée Latte. A book bucket list? How can we say no? Before you go running to make your own book bucket list, you have to read Alexa Martin’s new novel. Drew Young is a book hater. A typical “the movie is always better” kind of girl. So, you might guess she didn’t expect to inherit her grandmother’s bookstore.
In walks Jasper Williams. He’s a hopeless romantic determined to show Drew just how beautiful books are. Thus the book bucket list is born! Of course, Drew gets tangled up in some family drama that jeopardizes her newly acquired bookstore, but Jasper is writing a happy ending that is perfect for both of them.
Grab your copy November 8!
4. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas & an Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte
You will definitely need this cold drink to cool you down during this STEAMY novel. I know, I know– This book isn’t new by any means, and I am way behind on the trends, but I’m currently reading it. The Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte is my go-to holiday drink. I just had to pair the two together! Also, VEGAN ALERT! This is a vegan-approved starbs drink!!
Feyre’s story hooks you from page one. As she is trying to provide for her family, she kills a wolf that definitely wasn’t supposed to be killed. When a terrifying creature comes to make her pay, she is brought to a place she never knew existed. Her captor is none other than one of the dangerous immortal faeries that once ruled her world.
Her feelings for Tamlin eventually grow into a hot, burning passion she never expected. Can she help stop the shadow that is looming over the world of the Fae? Find out with me!
5. All I Want for Christmas by Maggie Knox & the Chestnut Praline Latte
“You’re cheesy, Emilee.” Yes, I know, but I couldn’t help pairing this book with a drink that sounded exactly like the holiday season. It doesn’t get any more festive than chestnut praline. It also doesn’t get any cheesier than a Christmas-themed enemies-to-lovers with fake dating.
Get into the holiday spirit with this festive holiday rom-com about two country singers who must fake date in order to win the opportunity of a lifetime.
Sadie and Max are both on their way to getting their big Nashville break. After they get paired for a duet and people think their onstage chemistry is real, the network is making them stay a duo on and off the stage. If they don’t, they can kiss their chances goodbye. This wouldn’t be so hard if Sadie and Max didn’t struggle to just be around one another.
The book is out November 4! Make sure to snag your copy on the way to get your Chestnut Praline Latte!
6. The Librarian of Crooked Lane by C. J. Archer & an Irish Cream Coldbrew
Does anyone else feel like mysteries and cold brews just go together? This librarian with a mysterious past begins to uncover some family secrets she never expected. Sylvia Ashe grew up without without her father, and her mother simply refused to tell her anything about him. Next thing she knows, she finds a diary that suggests she could be descended from magicians.
In comes Gabe– the dreamy war hero who knows wealth and a loving family. Having survived four years at war, he now spends his time investigating a stolen magician-made painting. After getting Sylvia dismissed from her job, his life gets turned upside down.
Will they uncover the past before some very scary, powerful people stop them? Or should they leave the past buried?
