The book series Frog and Toad is hitting the big screen and we have all the details for you. The books follow two amphibious creatures, a frog and a toad, on wondrous adventures through the woods. We can feel the nostalgia creeping in already. Arnold Lobel wrote the first book in 1978 titled Frog and Toad All Year. He carried on to write three more books after this. Keep reading to get the details on the bookish adaptation we didn’t know we needed.
Frog and Toad’s Story
Besides the beautiful illustrations and the warm feeling these books protrude, Lobel wanted to teach the young readers a few key life lessons. Frog and Toad would continuously do good deeds for one another, even when no one was watching. Toad would anxiously wait at home and imagine all the bad things that could happen to Frog on his daily stroll to his house. However, he always arrives safely. Lobel wanted to show children that friendship and love are truly all that matters in life. And by doing good deeds, you can make someone’s day much brighter.
“I am happy. I am very happy. This morning when I woke up I felt good because the sun was shining. I felt good because I was a frog. And I felt good because I have you as a friend.”Arnold Lobel, Days with Frog and Toad
