In my opinion, Leo Valdez is one of the best comic relief characters in the entire series. While there is certainly so much more depth to his character than just his jokes, he certainly makes the series better with his hilariously witty remarks.

“Gaea?” Leo shook his head. “Isn’t that Mother Nature? She’s supposed to have, like, flowers in her hair and birds singing around her and deer and rabbits doing her laundry.”
“Leo, that’s Snow White,” Piper said.”

Gaea is the Greek primordial goddess of the Earth. Not to be confused with Snow White, a fourteen-year-old girl who sings to animals and bakes gooseberry pies for The Seven Dwarfs.
3. Suffering
“It’ll be dangerous,” Nyssa warned him. “Hardship, monsters, terrible suffering. Possibly none of you will come back alive.”
“Oh.” Suddenly Leo didn’t look so excited. Then he remembered everyone was watching. “I mean… Oh, cool! Suffering? I love suffering! Let’s do this.”

4. Your Own Path
“You must forge your own path for it to mean anything.”

These are wise words to Jason Grace from Hera, the goddess of women, marriage, childbirth, and hating Percy Jackson.

“I’m not good with children,” the god confessed. “Or people. Well, any organic life forms, really.”
