Wakanda Forever left us breathless with outstanding performances across the board. If you’re like me, you are counting the days until the third Black Panther movie. Until then, we have five comics you should read to keep your obsession at bay.

1. Shuri Vol. 1: The Search For Black Panther

After the unexpected death of Chadwick Boseman, the fictional and real-world were searching for the next Black Panther. In the comics, it’s common knowledge to know who donned the black cat. T’Challa’s younger sister became the Black Panther after he disappeared in this comic series. If you were blown away by Letitia Wright’s performance, then you have to check out this comic for more Shuri adventures as the Black Panther as she tries to find her older brother. You also get special guest appearances from Storm, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and even Iron Man! It sounds like a great team to me!

2. Black Panther: Shuri – The Deadliest of the Species

Continuing the Shuri train, we have The Deadliest of Spies comic! In this one, our beloved King T’Challa is severely injured, resulting in a coma. Wakanda is a nation that constantly needs someone in charge because of how much power it holds. Shuri must step up to become the next Black Panther if T’Challa cannot wake. It’s going to be hard if supervillain Morlun is lurking in the corner! 

3. Ironheart: Riri Williams

In Wakanda Forever, we were introduced to the fierce successor of Iron Man. Meet Riri Williams! Much of her backstory is omitted in the movies, but check out this comic to get her true origin story along with the experiences of stepping into Tony Stark’s shoes. In this series, Riri will face her first supervillain! 

4. Namor: The Sub-Mariner

Namor is the antagonist in Wakanda Forever, but his comic counterpart’s history is a little more muddle than that. Check out this series to know the ins and outs of Namor. In this series, it’s confirmed that Namor was the first mutant! Which would make all the sense because he’s the first mutant mentioned in the main universe of the MCU! You must check out this series to fully understand Namors background and true purpose!

5. Avengers vs. X-Men

Speaking of Mutants… we must include this epic fight between the Avengers and the X-Men! The X-Men recently merged with the MCU characters, and we are slowly getting more and more mutants on screen. So you must prepare yourself if the Avengers go toe to toe with the mutants. Don’t underestimate the X-Men! They have the most potent superheroes from their franchise!
