Drumroll Please, Dictionary.com’s 2017 Word of the Year is…

Dictionary.com has announced its Word of the Year for 2017, and in the vein of Collins English Dictionary’s choice of “fake news”, it’s marginally political.    Drumroll please, the 2017 Word of the Year is… “complicit”, and the website defines the word as “choosing to be involved in an illegal or questionable act” and “having partnership or involvement in wrongdoing.” According to Dictionary.com, online searches for the word spiked three times this year.   Image via CNN   We first heard the word in March, after Saturday Night Live released a fake ad for a perfume named Complicit , featuring Scarlett Johansson as Ivanka Trump. Next, in April, …
