Laini Taylor’s Strange the Dreamer will almost certainly become the next big thing. It quickly became a New York Times bestseller and has a whopping 4.38 stars on Goodreads out of almost 25,000 reviews. Those are both big numbers. Though it only came out last year, fans of Taylor’s instant success don’t have to wait much longer for the follow-up. Muse of Nightmares will hit shelves on October 2nd.

Strange the Dreamer follows orphaned librarian Lazlo Strange as he journeys to the mysterious city of Weep, which he’s dreamed of visiting ever since the name of the city was mysteriously sucked out of his (and everybody else’s) heads fifteen years prior. It’s a book about gods, warriors, and, of course, dreamers. I can’t say enough good things about it, honestly. It’s nicely written, has a good pace, the characters are memorable, and it feels good in your hands.
Entertainment Weekly has nabbed an exclusive look at the follow-up’s cover, as well as having an excerpt from the first couple of chapters. Take a look at the cover and visit Entertainment Weekly to get your first glimpse at Lazlo and Sarai’s new adventure. Pre-order Muse of Nightmares here!
