13 ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ Quotes for a Spellbinding Week!

I don’t know about you, but when I was little (and by little I mean currently today as a fully grown adult) all I ever wanted was to awake one morning to find that I had become a teenage witch à la Sabrina.

Just think about how much more convenient life would be if, at the point of your finger, the world around you could change? You’d never have to wake up early to get ready and commute to work, you could just point and boom, you’d be ready! You could freeze time, erase all of your embarrassing moments from the ether, and never have to worry about a thing! You would have complete and total control over your life.

I think we can all just admit that Sabrina is goals. *sigh* Maybe someday…

In the meantime, soak up these thirteen quotes (and all the nostalgia that may ensue) from our favorite teenage witch, quirky aunts, and sassy ex-dictator kitty!

Mrs. QuickMen rule the world, and they do it by oppressing women, forcing us into stereotypical roles and shoes that create permanent foot problems… remember, a woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle.

Sabrina: It can take years to develop a craft. Look at my aunts Hilda and Zelda.

Josh: Which craft were they involved in? Which craft were they involved in?

Sabrina: Witchcraft? Who said anything about witchcraft?

Salem: I’m a cat, I’m curious, so kill me.

Sabrina: What’s the matter? I have to be a witch, I have to be a mortal, I have to be a teenager and I have to be a girl all at the same time. That’s what’s the matter.

Harvey: Why do you need college? Let’s stick to our plan, after graduation we load up my bus and travel the country following the music.

Salem: I need a little fresh air and a latte.

Sabrina: So, can I ask you a question? Ever felt like you don’t fit in?

Jenny: Only all the time, but I don’t want to fit in! I researched it, and awkward people tend to be much more successful later in life. I look at Libby, I see tragedy!

Zelda: Because sometimes, when things get tough, denial is all we have.

Sabrina: Woohoo! I’m normal! Gotta go tell the cat.

Jenny: But I like weird. I love weird. I bask in the glow of weird.

Salem: Don’t ask me. I was an English major.

Sabrina: You are so weird!

Salem: [nodding] It helps break up the day.

Sabrina: I want a world where you can escape your problems and not learn anything.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Sabrina Reboot Will Officially Be Called ‘The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’

The newest Sabrina the Teenage Witch adaptation has been on our minds lately, because we can’t wait. We’ve previously reported on the casting of Aunt Hilda, Aunt Zelda, Harvey, and Salem the Cat, but according to Roberto Anguirre Sacasa, the creator of Riverdale, the name we thought was official wasn’t – until now.

I’m not going to lie, I didn’t know that wasn’t already the official title. It’s the official title of the comic books after all, and we’ve been reporting on it as if it were, because what else could it have been?

Regardless, we’re so excited for this new reboot, especially because Riverdale has been an incredible hit, because who isn’t a fan of Archie comics, and because we’ll never say no to favorite characters from literature (or comics) hitting the silver screen.

Sabrina Reboot Casts Harvey Kinkle and He Looks… Exactly Like Sabrina?

So we’re all excited for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Netflix’s ‘dark’ reboot of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, which is set to star Mad Men‘s Kiernan Shipka in the titular role.  They’ve been steadily beefing up their cast over the past few months, with actors chosen for the roles of The Office’s Lucy Davis as Aunt Hilda, Lord of the Ring’s Miranda Otto as Aunt Zelda, Salem (he’s a real cat as opposed to a strange puppet thing) and now Harvey. But there’s something funny about Ross Lynch, and not because the only thing anyone in the office can remember him from is Austin and Ally.

Now that I’ve seen it, I can’t unsee it: HE LOOKS LIKE KIERNAN SHIPKA. Observe:

So they’re not, like, identical, but they are very, very similar. If someone told me, hey, they’re brother and sister, my response would be decidedly un-surprised. But they’re not siblings. They are two unrelated actors who will play love interests. I know there is a strange phenomenon whereby sometimes couple grow to look alike when they’ve been together a long time, but l somehow doubt the producers are preempting this.

Anyway, there’s your new Harvey Kinkle. I have to say, my loyalties (by which I mean my whole heart and all the love I have to give) lie with the original, Nate Richards. LOOK AT HIM.

Zelda, the more serious of the Spellman aunts, is the family’s disciplinarian. Described as proud and devout, she believes there is no greater honor than serving the Dark Lord as a member of the Church of Night.

With Otto joining the series, the Spellman family’s casting is complete. Mad Men‘s Kiernan Shipka has been cast as Sabrina, the lead role, while Lucy Davis will play Hilda, Chance Perdomo will play warlock cousin Ambrose, Michelle Gomez will play Mrs. Wardell (aka Madam Satan), and Jaz Sinclair has been cast as Sabrina’s best friend Rosalind Walker.
