Parkes/MacDonald Production company has acquired the rights to one of the best selling Young Adult Novels of 2016, My Lady Jane, written by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows. They have also acquired the rights to upcoming thriller novel, People Like Her, written by husband and wife duo, Collette Lyons and Paul Vlitos, under the pen name Ellery Lloyd. Which is set for release in 2021.

My Lady Jane, is a story about a damsel in distress, that not only saves herself, but also the kingdom. It is a supernatural tale set in an alternate 1553 England, on the verge of Civil War. The story is about real life heroine Lady Jane Grey, but her story was given a twist because of instead of being beheaded like in real life, in this story she saves the day. The series will be written by Gemma Burgess and she will also serve as executive producer.
People Like Her, is a contemporary thriller set in the world that is social media, and how influencers have power over their followers. It follows insta mom Emmy Jackson and how she posts her personal life perfectly online but in real life her life is falling apart. Her and her husband constantly fight, and the main source of their fighting is how Emmy uses their children as part of her social media persona. Also, as much as she is adored on social media, there are also haters, and there is one hater that will stop at nothing to ruin her life. The project is being eyed as a possible cable series or a limited streaming series.
