The Witcher Season 2 gets its First Sneak Peek

Witcher fans rejoice a new sneak peek for the long-awaited second season of the popular fantasy show has arrived. The series based on the two Witcher novels The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny has released a twelve-second teaser after filming wrapped in April this year. The clip features Ciri briefly training with Geralt as an impending battle with Nilfgaard’s army looms over the monster-hunting trio. The clip promises the formal training of The Loin Cub of Cintra in her journey to become a witcher herself like Geralt with a penchant for the mystic arts like Yennefer in the upcoming season.

Coupled with the clip was an announcement of WitcherCon. Netflix has partnered with the developers of The Witcher game series CD Projekt Red to deliver a slew of new content via a virtual convention that’s pegged for July 9th.

Fans of both the games and the Netflix series will likely get more previews of the upcoming season and may feature teasers for the upcoming spin-off projects. The first being The Witcher: Blood Origin, a prequel series of the first witchers ever known, and The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf an animated film focusing on Geralt’s mentor, Vesemir, in his origin story before he debuts in the second season.

After facing a hodgepodge of delays due to the pandemic and some onset injuries the future of The Witcher seems clearer than ever. With this new teaser, the hype can once again sprawl further beyond the confines of the video game and novel worlds. Viewers will finally get to follow everybody’s favorite stoic monster hunter and friends sometime very soon in Fall 2021.
