Creators of ‘The Gruffalo’ Teach Children Safe Practices During the Pandemic

As adults, we understand the importance of social distancing and staying inside during this hectic time. However, we all know that it’s hard for children to understand why they can’t go out. My little brother is constantly asking me why we can’t visit Grandma or why he can’t go to school. Thankfully, makers of The Gruffalo, author Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler, are doing their part to help. Together the pair have created a series of images displaying their well-known characters as they practice social distancing and other cautionary practices.

Donaldson and Scheffler saw these images as a lighthearted way to bring people together and educate everyone on what is happening. Donaldson hopes that these images “will [emphasize] best practices and help with home schooling.”
