In the fall of 2017, Lord of the Rings fans were given the greatest news in all of Middle-earth: Amazon Prime declared that they were to adapt Tolkien’s epic fantasy, only in an entirely new way and age. Instead of taking place in the Third Age, it would cover a prequel to the trilogy we all know and love, only the exact synopsis of the Second Age adventure was not revealed… until now!
Tolkien fans everywhere have been counting down the years (three years, so far, to be exact) until they’d receive more info about the new Lord of the Rings show that Amazon Prime is adapting, and we finally have some news! Twenty actors’ names have just been announced for the cast.
You don’t have to look too far to see that fans have been craving another large-scale fantasy epic of magical proportions since the conclusion of HBO’s adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s, A Game of Thrones. And this time, it’s Amazon that’s stepping up to the plate with their upcoming adaptation of Robert Jordan’s timeless epic fantasy, The Wheel of Time series.
