The classic animated movie is well loved amongst Disney fans, so everyone is waiting on edge to see the live action verision of the film. According to co-chairman and chief creative officer at Walt Disney Studios, Alan Horn, he states that the pandemic has not changed the message of the movie, which is about hope and perserverance. If you haven’t seen the movie, then you don’t know that it’s about a young chinese women who goes to war in her father’s place, undercover as a man because she wants to prove who she really is and not who her family wants her to be. It’s a powerful movie with a power ballad, Reflection, that sets the tone for the movie. Horn, also states that they will continue to make accomendations to the release as the conditions require.
Alan Bergman, another chairman at Walt Disney studios, states that the film was meant to be on the big screen. He commended the cast and director Niki Caro for creating an epic film and how it’s for audiences around the globe to enjoy and experience together.
The movie is going to be epic, and Mulan is such an inspiring character, and definitely one to admire. She isn’t your average Disney heroine in the slightest and she sets the bar high for girl power in the Disney universe. So, I have no doubt how amazing this film is.

James Gunn was fired after alt-right journalists dug up his old tweets from a decade ago where he made pedophilia jokes. The tweets were horrific but Gunn has admitted they were a deep mistake and has since matured beyond those days. They were a decade ago, after all. But Disney quickly pulled the trigger once the tweets were reported by news outlets and Gunn was fired. However, since then Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn met with Gunn multiple times. Moved by Gunn’s public apology and his mature handling of the situation, Horn rehired James Gunn.
James Gunn’s words were not defensible but he has matured since the tweets and his words were simply that: words. Unlike others in his situation (Kevin Hart or Kevin Spacey), James Gunn has not engaged in the behavior he poked fun at. In any case, this is good news for Marvel fans and certainly good news for James Gunn. Although Marvel and Disney have remained mum on production details, it is known that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will commence production once Gunn’s next project, Suicide Squad 2, finishes. Gunn took the project after he was fired from the Guardians franchise, making his return to Marvel all the more of a surprise, considering the Suicide Squad franchise is owned by DC.
We’ll keep you updated for further details but for now, let’s all welcome back Gunn to where he belongs!
