I have to admit, I’m still a little disappointed in the Olaf casting. While actors Neil Patrick Harris and Jim Carrey are great, I still think that something isn’t quite right. I love the Netflix adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events: It does has a dark feel to it, like a mix of Wes Anderson and Tim Burton, but i still am not satisfied by Olaf’s character. Carrey had the towering height of Olaf, and Harris has the costumes down, but I don’t think his character has been dark enough! The books are quirky, terrible, and somber, but not as funny as the movie and the series have made it out to be. I respect that Lemony Snicket (Daniel Handler) worked on the Netflix series, but I’m still feel like Olaf should be less funny and more evil!
