Netflix's 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' Wraps Final Season

It's coming to an end!

The third and final season of Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events has finished shooting, Express reports. Although the show's second season was only released at the end of March, Neil Patrick Harris (who portrays the main antagonist, Count Olaf) recently tweeted out a picture of himself in costume, along with a message:

Can’t believe that tomorrow is my last day as Count Olaf. For over two years I’ve gotten to play in the most creative, visual, challenging, fantastical sandbox of my career. I’m super proud, and will miss it greatly.

Season three is expected to cover the final four books in the children's series by Daniel Handler (under the pseudonym 'Lemony Snicket') - The Slippery Slope, The Grim Grotto, The Penultimate Peril, and The End.

The first two seasons consisted of eight and ten episodes respectively - two for each book being adapted. But showrunner Barry Sonnenfeld says that the final book, The End, will only be adapted as one episode, saying "We just didn't think there was enough material to turn it into a two-episode show."

No release date has yet been announced for the final season.
